All new department members will be assigned a department mentor.  Tenure-track appointees will be paired with a department member from another UW College who has similar teaching assignments.  Wherever possible, lecturers will be paired with a colleague from the same campus.  While the initial contact will come from the mentor, continued interaction is the shared responsibility of both individuals.  New department members are strongly encouraged to avail themselves of the expertise of their mentors.   An individual may request a change of mentor at any time.  Such requests should be directed to the Department Chair.
