University of Wisconsin Colleges Assistant Professor of Mathematics, tenure-track Do you wish to work at

things and more. Responsibilities The successful
candidate will demonstrate excellence and commitment to teaching first and
second year undergraduates. The academic year teaching assignment is 24
credits and includes the full sequence from algebra through calculus, as well
as statistics, quantitative reasoning, and mathematics for elementary
teachers. You must be willing to
advise students, collaborate with colleagues in creating interdisciplinary
courses, explore computer-enhanced instruction, engage in community outreach,
participate in shared governance, and continue your scholarly professional
development. Teaching a freshman seminar or in a learning community may
be required after your first year. Development of interdisciplinary
courses is encouraged. In other words, we are looking for an excellent
teacher-scholar willing to participate and excel in the many dimensions of
university life. Qualifications Ph.D. in math education
or math required, ABD candidates will be considered
if applicant can assure Ph.D. completion within the first year of
appointment. Evidence of quality undergraduate teaching is strongly preferred.
The department and campus have a preference for applicants with interest or
experience in instructional technology, distance learning, learning
communities, and first year experiences. Brief Description of
