Currently Assistant Professor of
English at UW-Marathon County, Holly Hassel received her Ph.D. in August
of 2002 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after completing her dissertation entitled
"Wine, Women, and Song: Gender and Alcohol in Twentieth-Century American
Fiction." She teaches courses in American literature, composition, and women's
studies. Her areas of research interest include composition studies, poetry
(creative writing), women's studies, women's literature, and twentieth-century
American fiction. Off-campus, Dr. Hassel enjoys running, hiking, reading,
karaoke, watching Law and Order, and playing with her cat.
